Table-Tennis Club – Wednesdays 7:15 pm to 9:15 until 31st May 2017

Table Tennis Club now on Wednesday Evenings

The plan for 2017 for the Table Tennis club is to change the club night from Thursday to Wednesday night – the time remains the same 19:15 – 21:15.

Every Wednesday is booked at the Memorial Hall for club nights until 31st May 2017.

Picture shows the crammed Memorial Hall Meeting on Friday 6th January 2017 where villagers heard from our Parish Councillors, our District Councillor Nigel Smith, and our MP Andrew Bridgen, about the planned change in the HS2 route which brings it even nearer to Packington. We hope to bring you more details in Packington Post magazine later this month.

New HS2 route – Closer, far more Noise for Packington ?

HS2 re-route to avoid Measham looks worse for Packington

HS2 have published a consultation for a re-route nearer to Packington:

  • New route avoids Measham to the East, now comes closer to Packington
  • To cross the Sewage Farm on embankment, instead of in a cutting beyond the five-ways junction
  • Line elevation seems increased, bringing far more noise. Most of the route near us was to be in cuttings or level; now most of the adjacent track is to be exposed and elevated.
