Measham Medical Unit – May 2017 Information

MEASHAM MEDICAL UNIT

Village Information for MAY 2017

The Medical Unit is closed for staff training on Wednesday afternoon 10 May.

Did you know ….? Some interesting figures for the month of March.

Our Doctors and Nurse Practitioners saw 4567 patients:

  • 1312 of those patients were seen in our morning surgery and
  • a further 738 as emergencies.

Our Clinic Team saw 1744 patients:

  • 890 of these had blood tests and
  • our practice nurses saw 934 patients.
  • 59 children were immunised;
  • 59 patients received antenatal care.

That’s a total of 7363 patients seen at the Unit in March.

Morning Surgery: Our morning surgery is not an emergency surgery; it is a surgery for dealing with one new acute problem that needs attention that day. It is not for ongoing or multiple problems which are much better dealt with in a booked appointment.

Summer Tea Parties: Starting next month, the Patient Participation Group will be organising a number of Summer Tea Parties in various locations in the MMU catchment area. These will give an opportunity for people to meet informally; to learn a little more of what the Practice can offer; and to find out what additional activities would be welcomed to encourage self-care.
