Introducing the Packington Village CCTV Scheme
The Packington Village CCTV Scheme is overseen by the Packington Village CCTV Working Group, with the Parish Clerk serving as the immediate point of contact for queries relating to its use or management.
This community initiative has been established to help enhance public safety, deter crime, and promote the well-being of residents and visitors throughout the village. The system is operated in line with guidance from the Home Office, ensuring responsible, proportionate, and transparent use of surveillance in public spaces.
The purpose of the CCTV scheme is to:
- Assist in the prevention and detection of crime and anti-social behaviour.
- Help protect the safety of individuals and property.
- Support law enforcement and community resilience where appropriate.
The scheme is fully funded by Packington Parish Council, demonstrating its ongoing commitment to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for everyone in the village.
