They are CLOSING the A42 Southbound from Junction 23A (EMA) to Ashby Junction 13 (Tesco) at night times in August from Monday 15th August

Traffic Management proposed for the period 15 August through to 29 August:

  • A42 Southbound from M1 junction 23a (East Midlands Airport) to A42 junction 13 Ashby-de-la-Zouch North
  • closed between 21:00 and 6:00 Monday to Friday nights and
  • closed from 20:00 on a Saturday night to 6:00 Sunday morning.
  • No work Sunday nights
  • No closure August bank holiday weekend i.e. no closures on Friday 26, Saturday 27, Sunday 28 or Monday 29

Also:  planned full weekend closures of the southbound carriageway:

  • 21:00 on Friday 16 September  to 6:00 Monday 19 September 2016
  • 21:00 on Friday 30 September to 6:00 Monday  3 October

Local diversion routes:

  • M1, then A512 at M1 junction 23 back to the A42 at junction 13 Ashby-de-la-Zouch.
  • Non-motorway route signed along  A453.
  • Traffic travelling longer distance will be advised to follow the M1 to junction 21 then M69.
