The organisers of the Charity Breakfast held on Saturday 28th February 2015 at Packington’s Memorial Hall report an amazingly successful event.
270 paid Breakfasts Over £ 1,000 to charity Over 60 volunteers
Mike Coke, of Packington’s Memorial Hall Committee, described how 270 paid-for breakfasts were served, realising a profit of over £1,000 for the charity fund supporting our valiant junior villager, Harry Culwick.
In the kitchen, Wesley Ewing and his Food Gusto teams of volunteers produced tasty hot breakfasts at a startling rate, and the Hall was very full for most of the four hours of service.
45 Adult volunteers, in addition to the sterling teams of Guides and Brownies, helped cook, serve, collect plates, clean tables, wash dishes, take orders, take money, organise the raffle, make toast, make tea and coffee, serve orange juice, put out the tables and chairs, clear them away afterwards, and several other tasks that just need doing to make such a hugely successful morning.
