Lots of village folk have dogs and cats.\u00a0 It&#8217;s likely that things will seem to go &#8220;bang&#8221; this week and next, and these animals won&#8217;t like that. Animals can panic and even die where people don&#8217;t take care.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;re lucky in this country that most people understand being frightened, and wouldn&#8217;t want their pretty and spectacular fireworks to cause fright or fear in animals. Most of us take care about when and where we set off our loud and sudden visual delights.\u00a0 <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-4577\" src=\"http:\/\/packington.info\/bloggle\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/rd_20111105-Woking-Fireworks_IMG_4661w500.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"501\" height=\"334\" srcset=\"https:\/\/packington.info\/bloggle\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/rd_20111105-Woking-Fireworks_IMG_4661w500.jpg 501w, https:\/\/packington.info\/bloggle\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/rd_20111105-Woking-Fireworks_IMG_4661w500-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 501px) 100vw, 501px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>If YOU see or know people who don&#8217;t<\/strong> seem to understand the problem, please try to mention to them that <strong>we also have laws<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It&#8217;s <strong>an offence under the Animal Welfare Act<\/strong> 2006 to cause any unnecessary suffering <strong>to any captive or domestic animal<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Fireworks <strong>MUST NOT be set off<\/strong> near livestock or horses in fields, or close to buildings that house livestock.<\/li>\n<li>Causing unnecessary suffering carries a fine of up to \u00a320,000, and \/ or a prison term of up to six months.<\/li>\n<li>It is <strong>illegal for anyone under 18 to possess a firework in a public place<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The law says you must not set off or throw fireworks (including sparklers) in the street or other public places.<\/li>\n<li>Fireworks must not be set off by a private individual between 11pm and 7am except for certain nights of the year &#8211; bonfire night when the cutoff is midnight, and New Year\u2019s Eve, Diwali and Chinese New Year, when the cut off is 1am<\/li>\n<li>You can be fined up to \u00a35,000 and imprisoned for up to 6 months for selling or using fireworks illegally. You could also get an on-the-spot fine of \u00a390.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-4580 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/packington.info\/bloggle\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/Screen-Shot-2018-10-29-at-17.28.59-300x244.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"244\" srcset=\"https:\/\/packington.info\/bloggle\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/Screen-Shot-2018-10-29-at-17.28.59-300x244.png 300w, https:\/\/packington.info\/bloggle\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/Screen-Shot-2018-10-29-at-17.28.59.png 583w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><br \/>\nIf your premises are adjacent to property containing animals, you must not let off fireworks there. Take them some-where else!<\/p>\n<p>There are excellent displays in the local area, including at <a href=\"https:\/\/packington.info\/bloggle\/packington-bonfire-and-fireworks-monday-5th-november-2018\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Packington&#8217;s own Recreation Ground<\/a> at 7pm on Bonfire Night.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Villagers who own or manage animals<\/strong> asked us to mention these facts, and to <strong>say &#8220;Thank You&#8221;<\/strong> for your concern and understanding.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Animals are often TERRIFIED by fireworks..
