The Garden Society will soon be celebrating 30 years since its modest beginnings when a small group of enthusiasts met together over tea and cakes in someone\u2019s front room. As numbers grew they set up in the Ivanhoe College before moving to Packington in 2010<\/strong>. Average membership is about 45<\/strong>. <\/span><\/p>\n

Members enjoy illustrated talks by guest speakers and summer visits to local gardens under the Yellow Book Scheme. The programme also includes social events, a coach outing and a Christmas Lunch. Members pay an annual subscription of \u00a315 and visitors \u00a31.50 a meeting. <\/span><\/p>\n

21<\/b><\/span>st<\/b><\/span><\/sup> February<\/b><\/span> – illustrated talk by Mark Smith,\u00a0 Staunton Harold Nurseries, \u201dMy Life as a Plant Manager\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n

6th March<\/b><\/span> – informal club social evening<\/span><\/p>\n

21<\/b><\/span>st<\/b><\/span><\/sup> March – <\/b><\/span>the return of<\/span> \u201cGardeners Question Time\u201d <\/b><\/span>hosted by Keith Thompson, Brian Storer and Kevin Jenkinson from Chapman\u2019s Nurseries. The popular trio will answer questions from the floor and there will be a selection of seasonal plants for sale.<\/span><\/p>\n

This is a friendly, informal group. Visitors are welcome. Just turn up. <\/strong>No expertise needed. We are enthusiastic amateurs who share a love of plants and gardens.<\/span><\/p>\n
