{"id":363,"date":"2013-08-07T12:05:04","date_gmt":"2013-08-07T11:05:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/packington.info\/bloggle\/?p=363"},"modified":"2013-08-19T09:25:50","modified_gmt":"2013-08-19T08:25:50","slug":"volunteer-support-needed-for-packington-memorial-hall","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/packington.info\/bloggle\/volunteer-support-needed-for-packington-memorial-hall\/","title":{"rendered":"Volunteer needed as Packington Memorial Hall Secretary"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-142 alignleft\" alt=\"MH09_labelled_exDSC00449w550_15k\" src=\"https:\/\/packington.info\/bloggle\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/MH09_labelled_exDSC00449w550_15k-300x144.jpg\" width=\"184\" height=\"94\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #993300;\"><strong>We need a new Secretary for our village Memorial Hall&#8217;s committee<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>At the Memorial Hall General Meeting in March the present Secretary said he had decided not to continue for 2013\/14.\u00a0 After 8 years he felt the time was right for a younger person, with fresh ideas, to take on this role.\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>Please can YOU now help<\/strong>?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--moreClick here to read more..--><\/p>\n<p>With no volunteers yet at the subsequent committee meeting, it was agreed that :-<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>There would be a &#8220;job description&#8221; of the role of secretary, publicised around the village.<\/li>\n<li>The present Secretary would continue in a temporary capacity for the time being.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Here is that\u00a0 <strong>JOB DESCRIPTION: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #993300;\"><strong>ROLE OF SECRETARY to MEMORIAL HALL \u00a0COMMITTEE<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>1. <strong>Take notes at each meeting of the committee<\/strong>, recording motions formally endorsed by the committee, especially those requiring further action. Note attendance and absentees at meetings. Meetings take place 10 times per year (monthly apart from August and December).<\/p>\n<p>2. <strong>Prepare minutes of previous meeting from notes<\/strong>, and <strong>an agenda for the next meeting<\/strong>, type them up and distribute them to committee members\u00a0about 10 days before the next meeting.<\/p>\n<p>3. <strong>Liaise with other officers of the committee<\/strong> (Chairman, Treasurer, and Booking Secretary) where necessary, usually 2 or 3 times per month (phone or email).<\/p>\n<p>4. <strong>Arrange for post received to be considered<\/strong> at next meeting, usually 1 or 2 items per meeting (primarily circulars from RCC or Leics County Council). Correspondence is quite limited, probably half a dozen letters per year are required to be drafted and sent in line with committee instructions.<\/p>\n<p>5. <strong>Arrange for Annual General Meeting AGM in March to be publicised<\/strong> by notices on village notice boards and in the Packington Post.
